Medical Acupuncture at SouthEast Integrative Medicine
Robert G. Lee, MD is Board Certified in Internal Medicine with a special interest in Medical Acupuncture. He is a graduate of the Program in Medical Acupuncture sponsored by the UCLA School of Medicine, and is one of the first physicians in Southeast Georgia to offer this healing method to the patients of South Georgia and North Florida. He received his medical training at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Arkansas. He is Past President of the Medical Staff at Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross, GA.
Dr. Lee is a member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, the Medical Association of Georgia, and the Okefenokee Medical Society. He presents medical education programs to both physicans and the non-medical community on the healing benefits of Acupuncture.
Dr. Lee is trained in both traditional Medical Acupuncture, where small sterile needles are placed on the body surface to aide in the treatment of a wide variety of both acute and chronic conditions, as well as Auricular Acpuncture, which uses tiny little gold "tacks" placed on the exterior edge of the ear. Auricular Acupuncture has exciting uses in the treatment of pain in the acute setting. Due to it's profound ability to decrease pain in the most extreme settings (such as in the military setting), it is often referred to as "Battlefield Acupuncture".
Both tradtional Medical Acupuncture and Auricular ("Battlefield") Acupuncture are offered daily in our office. To learn more about the conditions that can be treated by Dr. Lee, please see the Recommended Resources /Learn More on our website.
